A Summer Full of Beautiful Newborns | Newborn Photography in Derby

What a lovely summer it has been at MHB Photography! 🤍

Over the past few months, I've had the pleasure of meeting so many new families and welcoming their gorgeous little babies into my studio in Derby. It's always lovely to meet new parents, hear a little about their journey into parenthood and spend some time capturing those first precious days with their newborn.

And what a lot of cute babies I've had in front of my camera lately!

Beautiful babies and a little touch of summer

One of my favourite things about newborn photography is creating different setups for every baby. I love playing with colours, textures and little details to create something that suits each little one.

This summer, I've had some beautiful baby girls in the studio, and flowers have definitely been a favourite. Soft colours, delicate floral details and pretty summer-inspired setups work so beautifully for newborn girls. For the boys, I love creating equally lovely setups with colours and textures that complement their little features.

Every baby is different, and I enjoy finding the right look for each session rather than doing exactly the same thing every time.

Of course, it's not just about the setups. Those tiny expressions, sleepy faces, little stretches and the way babies curl up so naturally are what make these photographs so special. You never quite know what little moments you'll capture during a session, and that's part of the fun!Meeting new families and creating lasting memories

Something I particularly enjoy about my work is meeting families at such an important time in their lives. For many parents, their newborn session is one of the first professional experiences they have with their baby, and I want them to feel comfortable and enjoy the experience.

I know those first weeks can be a busy time, with so much to get used to and very little sleep! My aim is to make the photography session as relaxed as possible, taking the time needed for feeds, cuddles and settling baby whenever necessary.

I also love seeing parents look through their photographs afterwards. These are memories of a time that passes incredibly quickly, and having beautiful images to look back on becomes even more meaningful as little ones grow.

A summer I'll remember fondly

Looking back at the sessions from the past few months, I can honestly say I've had a fun summer. I've met so many lovely new people, photographed some seriously adorable babies and enjoyed creating a variety of beautiful newborn setups.
